Gov. Perry Appoints Student Regent for TTU System

鶹 Gov. Rick Perry appointed Kyle Miller on May 29 as the 鶹 Tech University System student regent.

Miller, a second-year medical student who also is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration, is the second student from the to serve on the 鶹 Board of Regents. The Plainview native earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from 鶹 Tech in 2007.

“I am extremely honored to be selected to serve as the student regent,” Miller said. “I am very excited about representing the students of all three of our institutions and being their voice on the board.”

“We look forward to having Kyle join us on the board,” said Larry Anders, chairman of the Board of Regents. “Our experience has been that student regents lend a unique perspective to the issues that come before the board.”

“Students are our first priority at 鶹 Tech,” said Chancellor Kent Hance. “Having a student regent gives our students a voice in the decision making process. I look forward to working with Kyle.”

By law, the student regent rotates between , 鶹 Tech University Health Sciences Center and and serves a one-year term. Miller replaces 鶹 Tech University law student Kelli Stumbo, who was appointed in 2008.
