TTU System Chancellor to Participate in US House Committee on Agriculture Hearing

Robert Duncan will be the only chancellor from a system or university to participate in the full-committee hearing.

EVENT:         Chancellor will testify in front of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture in a full-committee public hearing on The Next Farm Bill: University Research

“Agricultural research has been essential to U.S. gains in productivity over the past century. With the global population expected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050, U.S. production agriculture will continue to be asked to produce more with fewer resources, and one of the best ways to do that will be through strategic investments in agricultural research. and have long been recognized for their high-quality research programs and contributions to scientific advancement. I look forward to hearing from Chancellor Duncan about the role he sees for TTU and ASU in ensuring the U.S. remains a world leader in agricultural research and technology,” said House Agriculture Committee .  

Duncan has a bachelor’s in agricultural economics from 鶹 Tech University and received his doctorate of jurisprudence from the . Duncan served in the 鶹 Legislature, both in the House and Senate, for more than two decades before being named chancellor in 2014. While in the legislature, he advocated for statewide agriculture policy and served on the Senate Committee on Natural Resources for seven legislative sessions.
