Dear Midwestern State University family,

I hope this note finds you well and that you are enjoying this time as we look forward to the start of the summer semester. I write today to welcome JuliAnn Mazachek, Ph.D., to campus as she begins her duties as the 12th President of MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø on Monday (May 23).

Many of you have had the chance to meet President Mazachek, as she has spent the past couple of months visiting the campus and preparing for this transition. She will continue to meet with various groups and individuals throughout the summer, and I invite you to join me in welcoming her, along with her husband, Keith Mazachek, Ph.D., and their family as they officially become part of the MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø campus and the Wichita Falls community.

I want to again thank James Johnston, Ph.D., for his leadership as interim president. We are grateful for his dedication to the university and continued service to the MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø family as he returns to his role as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

President Mazachek’s extensive experience in academia, along with her passionate advocacy of the liberal arts and a deep belief in the MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø values-based culture, position her to not only maintain the positive momentum of the university but also expand the level of growth and success we have seen in its 100-year history. I am excited for her to lead the MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø family into its next chapter and an even brighter future.

This is a proud and historic moment for MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø, the Mustangs family and the entire Â鶹¹ÙÍø. We look forward to celebrating our future successes together.

Warmest regards,

Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D.
Chancellor
