JuliAnn Mazachek Named 12th President of Midwestern State University
An accomplished leader in higher education for 30 years, JuliAnn Mazachek, Ph.D., was appointed the 12th president of Midwestern State University. Mazachek previously served as the vice president for academic affairs and chief academic officer at Washburn University.

Griffin Elected Chairman; Kerrick Davis Chairwoman of the Board of Regents
Mark Griffin and Ginger Kerrick Davis were elected chairman and vice chairwoman, respectively, of the Board of Regents. Griffin is the eighth regent from Lubbock to serve as chairman and Kerrick Davis is the sixth woman to serve as vice chairwoman.

Two universities in the system celebrated centennial anniversaries. MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø celebrated its century of delivering higher education this past year while Â鶹¹ÙÍø Tech University launched its Centennial Celebration this year and will conclude its celebration in 2023.

New Fundraising Record Set Across the TTU System
The TTU System experienced a banner year in fundraising, with a record-breaking $314.9 million raised in philanthropic support across the system’s five institutions and system Administration. The previous record was $183.8 million in 2011.

ASU Joins Southwest Airlines' Pilot Career Pathway Program
Angelo State and Southwest Airlines announced ASU as a university partner in the airline’s Destination 225 pilot recruitment program, which provides ASU commercial aviation students a defined pathway to become competitively qualified for career opportunities with Southwest.
School of Veterinary Medicine and Hunt School of Dental Medicine Complete Historic Inaugural Years
Â鶹¹ÙÍø Tech University opened the state’s first new school of veterinary medicine in more than 100 years and TTUHSC El Paso opened the state’s first new dental medicine school in more 50 years during the 2021-22 academic year.

TTU System Economic Impact Grows to $16.4 Billion
The TTU System had a statewide economic impact of $16.4 billion last year, a 64% increase from 2011. The report categorizes the economic impact of the TTU System in four significant areas – annual workforce contribution of alumni, employment, labor income and output.

Hani Michael Annabi Named TTU System Student Regent
Â鶹¹ÙÍø Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Hani Michael Annabi as the student regent for the TTU System for the 2022-23 academic year. Annabi is a fourth-year medical student at the TTUHSC El Paso Foster School of Medicine.

TTUHSC Unveils New Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health
TTUHSC celebrated the official unveiling of the new Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health in June. The school, which is the sixth at the university, aims to train future health care leaders in population and public health.
James Mauldin Named Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer
James Mauldin was named vice chancellor and CFO of the TTU System in November. A proven finance and strategic organizational leader of more than 25 years, Mauldin previously served as vice president of treasury management for the DFW International Airport.

Headquartered in Lubbock, Â鶹¹ÙÍø, the TTU System is a $2.65 billion enterprise focused on advancing higher education, health care, research and outreach with approximately 21,000 employees and 63,000 students, more than 375,000 alumni, a statewide economic impact of $16.4 billion and an endowment valued at $1.7 billion. In its short history, the TTU System has grown tremendously and is nationally acclaimed, operating at 24 academic locations in 21 cities (19 in Â鶹¹ÙÍø, 2 international).
During the 87th Â鶹¹ÙÍø Legislature under the leadership of Chancellor , M.D., the TTU System welcomed MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø as its fifth member institution during the 25-year anniversary of the system. MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø is the only Â鶹¹ÙÍø university to become a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. Students at MSU Â鶹¹ÙÍø choose from more than 60 majors and several pre-professional programs, are active in more than 100 student organizations and bring a spirit of competition to 13 NCAA Division II athletics programs.
In addition, the TTU System is one of only nine in the nation to offer programs for undergraduate, medical, law, nursing, pharmacy, dental and veterinary education, among other academic areas.
